Read To Teleport Bookstore (2017)

The Singapore Writers Festival is an annual gathering of the international literary scene's brightest stars. The festival has always celebrate the ability of literature to whisk readers away on escapades and adventures.

In 2017, the fair was organised around the theme of Aram (அறம்), a Tamil word that questions what the meaning of being "good" are.

Notable speakers and authors at the fair included Madeleine Thien (Canada) and Junot Díaz (US).

With this in mind, we produced the Read to Teleport Bookstore with a curated focus on science fiction books. These books complemented the titles of the festival's featured writers to produce a holistic selection.

We also envisioned the bookstore as a space for interaction, reading, sharing and introspection. As such, we hosted events such as readings and book launches. These events aimed to excite an international audience about the Singaporean literary landscape through engaging content and experiences.

The fair is organised annually by the National Arts Council, and BooksActually was the official bookstore of the festival in 2017.
